There is a ritual in all most all communities of Tamil Nadu to wear “Thirumangalyam” an ornament which is made of gold during marriage .The poor section parents from are not able to arrange such things having a huge expense on the marriage of their daughter. So Tamil Nadu government want to help such parents by proving all the essential needs in the marriage. This help will encourage them to educate their daughters till the right age.

The government of Tamil Nadu has introduced five Marriage Assistance Schemes which helps the daughters for their marriages.

Tamilnadu Marriage Assistance Scheme Benefit

1. This scheme will provide help to the daughters of poor parents.
2. This scheme will provide help to the orphan girls.
3. In this scheme will provide help to the widows who want to re-marry.
4. This scheme will provide help to thewidow’s daughter’s marriage.
5. This scheme will provide help to the inter-caste married couples.

Eligibility Criteria of Tamilnadu Marriage Assistance Scheme 2022

For availing the benefits of Scheme-I

To avail the benefits under scheme -1 the bride should be 10^th Standard pass either she is studied in private / Distance Education.

In case if the bride is from schedule tribe then she should have studied up to V Standard.

The amount of Cash Assistance provided under this scheme is up to INR25,000 which is paid through ECS.

For availing the benefits of Scheme-II

To avail the benefit under scheme -2 the bride should be a Degree holders from regular colleges, Distance education / Government recognized Open University.

Or

The bride should be a Diploma holders qualified from the Institution recognized by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu.

The amount of Cash Assistance provided in this scheme is INR.50, 000 which will be paid through ECS.

Tamil Nadu Government Marriage Scheme Online

 1. MOOVALUR RAMAMIRTHAM AMMAIYAR NINAIVU MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME

This scheme provides the benefit to only those families whose annual income are not more than INR 72,000.This scheme will provide the cheque of INR 25,000 and gold coin of 8 grams. The bride should have complete her 18 years of age and bride groom should be completed 21 years of age.Only one girl from one family is eligible for this scheme.

2. Dr. DHARMAMBAL AMMAIYAR NINAIVU WIDOW REMARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME

This scheme is for the widow women who want to remarry .Under this scheme, the government will provide financial assistance of `15,000 which will be transferred through ECS and the amount of INR 10,000 will be provided as National Savings Certificate bond. Along with this amount the government will provide a gold coin of 4 gram 22 carat for making “Thirumangalyam” which is compulsory during the marriage.

This scheme doesn’t have any income range or educational qualification criteria. But if the bride is a degree / diploma holder then she will be provided INR 50,000, out of which, INR 30,000 is given through ECS and INR 20,000 is given as National Savings Certificate along with 4 gram 22 carat gold coin for making “Thirumangalyam”.The age limit for this scheme is 20 to 40 years and the bride should apply 6 months before the marriage for this scheme.

3. E.V.R. MANIAMMAIYAR NINAIVU MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME FOR DAUGHTERS OF POOR WIDOWS

This scheme is for the marriage of daughters of poor widows. This scheme will provide INR 25,000 and a 8 gram gold coin to the brides who is Matric pass and INR 50,000 to the bride who is graduate.

4. ANNAI THERASA NINAIVU MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME FOR ORPHAN GIRLS

This scheme is for the marriage of Orphan girls. This scheme will provide INR 25,000 and an 8 gram gold coin to the brides who is Matric pass and INR 50,000 to the bride who is graduate.

5. Dr. MUTHULAKSHMI REDDY NINAIVU INTER-CASTE MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME

This scheme is for the Intercaste marriages. This scheme will provide INR 15,000 and an 8 gram gold coin to the brides who is Matric pass and INR 30,000 to the bride who is graduate.This scheme will remove the caste based discrimination and let all persons to live equally.
