The government will provide food and shelter to the needy persons .But Jharkhand government initialize a new scheme to provide clothes to the peoples of below poverty line.

Sona Sobran Dhoti Saree Yojana 2022 Jharkhand

The Chief Minister of Jharkhand Mr.Heman Soren has decided to start SonaSobran Dhoti Sari Yojana under which BPL families. Under this scheme the people of Jharkhand will be given either one dhoti or one lungi besides one sari twice in a fiscal year.

Further elaboration about this scheme is done by cabinet minister Mr.Ajoy Kumar Singh briefed that this scheme is for those families who come under National Food Safety Act.Chief Minister of Jharkhan launched this scheme at Gandhi Maidan in Chaibasa, West Singhbhumdistrict. In Jharkhand the families whose monthly income doesn’t exceeds Rs.10, 000 comes under the BPL category.

Highlights of One Sari & One Lungi Scheme of Jharkhand 2022

1. It is launched by Jahrkhand government.
2. This scheme will provide Dhoti,Lungi and saree to the BPL families of Jharkhand.
3. These clothes will available to them at very minimal cost of Rs.10.
4. The people will get this clothes at the nearest PDS (Public Distribution System) shops.

This scheme of distributing Dhoti, lungi and Saree to the BPL families has been decided by former UPA government in 2014 but a year later the government of Sh. Raghubar Das has discontinued it.

Then during elections the JMM- Jharkhand MuktiMorcha has promised in their manifesto that they will restart this scheme if they come in power.

Need of Sona Sobran Dhoti Saree Scheme

According to survey in 2011-12, the average Monthly Per Capita Consumer Expenditure of Jharkhand in urban and rural areas was INR 1894 and INR 920, respectively. There is acute poverty in the rural areas of Jharkhand.

BPL families faces many problems related to education, Health and food. Thegovernment has initiated many new schemes for the development of BPL families in Jharkhand but due to lack of education and awareness these peoples are untouched with these schemes and unable to avail the benefits of this scheme.

So Jharkhand government also cares about the education of BPL families so upgrade their living standards and make them live happily.This scheme helps them to save their money at least for clothes.

Features of Jharkhand Sona Sobran Dhoti Sari Lungi Scheme

This scheme will provide clothes to the BPL people in subsidized rates i.e. in Rs.10 per cloth. In this scheme a family will be give one dhoti or one lungi besides one sari. These people will get this Dhoti and saree twice in a year after every six months.

There are about 57 lakhs BPL families in Jharkhand. The budget decided by Jharkhand government for this scheme is Rs.200crore.This budget will increasing according to time and demand.

Eligibility Criteria of Jharkhand Sona Sobran Dhoti Saree Yojana

1. This scheme is only for the benefits of Jharkhand residents.
2. This scheme is only for the benefits of BPL families.
3. The members of family should be registered under National Food Safety Act.

Documents required for this scheme:

How to apply for Sona Sobran Dhoti Saree Yojana 2022 Form

The government still not provide any information or online procedure to apply for this scheme. Additional Chief Secretary Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Department Arun Singh announced that this proposal has been placed in front of cabinet and the approval from the cabinet is pending.

After approval this scheme has been immediate implemented.
